I just read something on AOL about the newest and latest to step up and compete with Google. It is called cuil (pronounced cool) and was designed by a bunch of former google employees. Their thought process is that they index more than 3 times the amount of sites as google does. I know I have seen a bunch of sites try to compete with google, but until I see one actually knock them down, I have a hard time giving a lot of validity to this story. Nevertheless, I did go to their search engine and it seems to be rather unique and has some cool features.
