Hancock at Grand 14 Cinema- The Market Common, Myrtle Beach, SC

Grand 14 @ Market Commons

Over the weekend we made a journey over to The Market Common in Myrtle Beach to check out all of the surroundings and also watch a movie.  My wife and I had seen the previews for Hancock and had also heard a lot of good reviews from friends, so we decided to check it out.

Normally we head north to catch a movie, but since we live in The Farm at Carolina Forest which is so centrally located, it was no big deal to head south.

As we arrived at the theater, my wife grabbed the tickets as I parked in the parking lot which was conveniently located to the side of the building.  We walked inside together and I was taken back by the beautiful & spacious lobby.  Since we were planning to have dinner afterwards, we skipped the popcorn & snacks and headed on our way to theater #6.

TheaterWhen we walked in I noticed the great stadium seating with very comfortable leather reclining chairs.  We found some great center seats and sat back and relaxed in preparation of the movie.

The plot to the movie was rather unique.  It is about a superhero that has special powers, but isn't doing a super job as a superhero.  Will Smith, who plays Hancock does a really good job at conveying the loneliness of being a superhero and the difficulties of being different.  He tries to do the right thing and help others, but if things do not go perfect everyone is ready to turn on him. Over time he begins to not care anymore and gives up on what people think of him.  However as he saves one man, it changes his entire outlook on himself and others.  Co-stars include Jason Bateman & Charlize Theron

The movie had some really funny scenes as well as some great special effects that make this movie one I would reccomend viewing.

As for Grand 14 Cinema at Market Common, I would definitely suggest visiting the newest theater in Horry County.  Prices for the tickets was very competitive at $6.00 for a Saturday matinee.
