I want a second opinion

Ok, so my last post I asked for honest opinions on my new layout.  From what everyone told me, they didnt like it, so I am giving it another shot.  I would love some second opinions and also some new ones.  What do you think now that I got rid of the dots, and also some of the widgets?  Is is cleaner & smoother looking? Does the background picture on the sides make it too busy?  Should I maybe try to find just a simple background graphic? Once, again, be as harsh as you will, I will think of it as constructive criticism.

Jeremy - you asked.  So here's my .02

I like the clouds. 

What I would do on the banner image is fade out the right side behind the AR logo.

Match the blue menu bar to a color that is in the same area of the color wheel as the blue sky or a contrasting color.

Other than that - looks great!

Jeremy, I like it, but I'm not a big fan of the bolded white headline - a bit overwhelming.  It sort of SCREAMS.  That's just my opinion.

I would lighten the background of the rocks/trees...very faint. Then I would make the white headline blue.

Dennis, I like it.  Blue on blue is hard to see, where you have Horry county communities, I would make it yellow on blue.  Hope this helps.

White headline has to go. Or at least outline it with Black or Something.

I agree on the white title in the image.  A little too bold and stark.

On the right side, may I recommend something like this to fit in with the clouds and let the Ar logo look good.

Well call it what you may, I wanted more thoughts...I still dont know how crazy I am about the clouds on the side...it is supposed to be a great picture of a beach in the dominican republic..

I'm still not happy with mine either.

I haven't had time to play with redesigning the banneri to go all the way up to the AR logo (actually "members").

For me - I like the clouds.  I say keep em!

I am thinking of maybe taking them down and replacing with just a textured something...or solid color

It bothers me as a reader.  I am trying to maximize the page so I do not see the clouds. Im only one person though.  I find the cartoon characters on other blogs distacting, and the auto play of music distracting.

Chad- I was with you, while the clouds were nice I think the sand looks better.  Less distracting!
