I have to serve my first Eviction Notice

eviction notice

Unfortunately, on Monday of this week I have to serve my first eviction notice ever in my life. I thought at a few times over the years I was going to have to give one to a tenant or two that rented one of my personal properties, but never actually had to follow through with the paperwork. The worst part is that the person I have to serve the papers for is my own daughter!

As many of you know, my wife and I are expecting our first child any moment. The problem is, she is being stubborn and not wanting to come out. So after our Dr. visit today, she handed us the paperwork stating that if she does not come by Monday she will be forced to induce labor. My wife said to Isabelle that she better listen up, or she is getting evicted! I laughed to hard when she said that. Have a great weekend!

Since I have never served eviction papers to anyone, I am kinda nervous. Anyone have any good ideas on how to go about it? Any tips from those of you who have had to do it before? Any advice would be greatly appreciated since this is all new to me!

Daddy to be...any moment!

Jeremy

Daddy you need to get your wife a massage asap!! Both my kids were late and I know if you surprise her with a pregnancy message she will always remember how thoughtful you were and may not be as mean to you in the coming days. Good Luck and get some sleep cause you are going to need it soon!!~Stac

PS~Hopefully Isabelle isn't 11 lbs like my little Donovan!!

Hi Jeremy -- when our granddaughter was born (almost on time) we had an eviction notice prepared for our daughter and her husband to give her.  It read something like this: Okay, okay -- enough is enough already.  We're going crazy out here waiting for you, and all the party and celebration plans are on hold because you're being stubborn.  So, Adhira, when you come out, don't expect the flowers to be fresh, the chips of ice to be very crunchy, and the dogs all ready to applaud your entry into this world.  Do know, however, that none of this matters to any of us; we're just as nervous as you are!  May God bless your delivery!

Congrat on getting to meet the little rug rat soon.  Prayers are all goes well.  Isabelle was my grandmother's name and her sister-in-laws name too.  That is what I thought until I named our daughter Sarah as was told by grandpa that "sarah" was really grandma's name too.  Ok now that we have that in common....

If you ever really need to evict- here are my choice words-

"Hey, you remember that apt. of mine you use to rent?  NOT any more- there's the door"

Jeremy,

Let me put things into perspective...first of all, in a very womanlike fashion, Isabelle is demonstrating her self reliance and independent spirit...if you insist on delivering before Monday use an old trick...take your wife for a 'bumpy road' Sunday afternoon drive in the country...but not too far from the 'birthing center'!!! Thanks,   Fran

P.S. Oh, and please tell Isabelle she can call me 'uncle Fran'!!! :)

Jeremy - Congratulations on being a daddy to be - your entire world will change once Isabelle enters this world.  Best of luck to you, mommy and baby!

Creative and Cute!!!!!!!!  Congratulations, having a newborn is life altering and full of wonderful surprises.  As a couple you grow in so many ways and knowing that the two of you created a little one is astonishing!  Don't forget the date nights and the little things...your wife will appreciate those two things.

YOU MAKE ME FEEL BETTER. Everyone I know has been having theirs like three weeks early, and I needed someone to balance out those odds for me, because I really don't want to go that long...  :)

I hope everything goes well.  Like my midwife says - sometimes all it takes is a little "threat" of inducution to get labor started!

Hello Jeremy,

What a creative way to talk with us about this!  No wonder you're worried.  All new daddies are worried so you are in some pretty good company.  I am a coach and have assisted with 20+ births.  They are all different, the mothers, dads, babies, nursing staff and doctors are all different.  Remember, there is no pass or fail!   You get a baby out of it...So, appreciate the process, love your wife and new baby, stay in control...you can fall apart later.  It is truely the most amazing, scary, thrilling, lovely (and to some, icky) thing you'll ever experience!  It is God's wonderful gift to you  both.   I am so happy for you!

I love kids, or couldn't you tell?

Hi Jeremy,

All three of my kids were late.  I think they get comfortable in there and want to hang on.  What ever happens tell your wife to trust that her body was designed for this and to relax.  This is the one time in her life that she really can not be in charge.  That was my problem the first time, I learned with the second, and the third was a breeze so I pass this on to all about to be Moms.  The more she can trust in her body the better.

As for you, be ready to support in whatever way seems appropriate and remember that she is not in charge so if something comes out of her mouth that she normally would not say don't take it to heart.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. Congratulations in advance,Dad!

I finally made it over here to read about this eviction notice. Hhaha, You are so funny. At first, I thought that you had a daughter living in a home and you were really going to evict her. I was like "OH SNAP". Cute story. I can't wait till Isabelle comes and blesses the two of you. Keep me posted!

Jeremy - I look forward to reading about your experiences with your new baby girl soon.  I have three kiddos of my own, and my life was instantly changed for the better when my son was born.  God bless you at this very special time.  You will never forget the day that your child is born, no matter how many you guys have.
