Activerain Success Story: Thanks Jason Crouch!

Jason CrouchOver the 4th of July I took a wonderful trip out to Austin Texas to visit family.  This was a fun time to take my new daughter to meet her uncle & aunt and cousin for the first time.  My parents, grandparents, wife, daughter & myself were excited to make this trip because none of us had ever been to Texas.

One thing that made this trip even more exciting for me was the fact that I had hoped to meet up with an Activerain Icon & Austin Texas Real Estate Guru, Jason Crouch.  Well as the week went on, we were very busy visiting with the family, going out shopping, and just spending quality time together that I was unable to hook up with Jason.

The big highlight of our trip though was that my brother has decided to move back to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  In order to make this possible he was going to need to do something with his home that he owns in Austin.  My brother had tried selling his home about a year ago, but was very displeased with the agent he found.  They really did nothing but take the listing, place it in the MLS with 4 photos.  So, when the discussion came up about what to do with the house, I knew exactly who to contact.

I made a quick call over to Jason to see what he could tell me about selling my brothers house and the local market.  Jason immediately stopped everything to assist.  He quickly pulled up market information on the area and was able to give my brother all the local data necessary to realize he can't really sell his home right now due to the amount owed being more than the actual value.  I really appreciated Jason's honesty in that he gave us facts of what my brother needed to hear, not just things my brother would want to hear in order to get another listing.  I am a firm believer in this same philosophy and treat my sellers the same way.  I would rather give you the facts up front instead of just making statements to make you feel good and then become dissapointed in a few months when your home does not sell.

Since selling the property was not an option, I asked Jason for someone to help rent my brothers home for him.  He gave us two companies.  My brother contacted both of them and has already signed a lease agreement to have them manage his property.  In the first 5 days his home has already been shown 3 times to prospective tenants!  I know that at this rate his home will be rented in no time!

Thanks activerain for building a wonderful real estate network, and thanks to Jason Crouch for helping my brother move back home quickly!  You have placed trust in my brother for real estate agents again!  I can guarantee that in a few years he will definitely be contacting Jason to sell his home!

Jer - Thanks for taking the time to write this kind post about me.  I was happy to be of help for your brother, and I hope they are able to get it leased out quickly.  I'm sorry we didn't have a chance to meet during your visit to the area, but I'm sure we will meet someday.

Jeremy it is great you were able to rely on someone like Jason who would give you the truth and not something your brother wanted to hear. It's nice to have friends in high places.

Is a great story - thanks for sharing.  Is amazing that there is so many resources out there available to all of us.  And a great way to build a network - of both contacts and referrals.

Jeremy,  Thanks for sharing such a wonderful success story.  As a real estate investor, I hope that renting takes away the pain of not being able to sell in the current market.  Mike
