Today I was reading back through some of the numerous different posts that I have bookmarked and one that caught my attention was a recent post of Brad Andersohn's about 3 ways to reach your audience. In this post he discusses how video is becoming a more popular way to interact with your clients.
Now, I have already done some video things in the past, but those were all done with my digital camera and needed hours of downloading files, converting, and compressing and just took way too much time. One of the places Brad suggested for video was seesmic.
With our recent addition of Isabelle and the in-laws living 6 hours away, it makes it a little difficult for them to see their granddaughter on a regular basis. In the past, I have uploaded a few videos to my Myrtle Beach Real Estate video page on Youtube. Then a few weeks ago my wife and I obtained a webcam and have been talking to them on Skype. But, there are times when we want to send them something quick of a cute giggle, or of Isabelle's new outfit.
Seesmic makes all this possible and even better takes no time to do. I set up my account on Seesmic and now whenever I want to make a quick easy video, I click record, and record it. You press stop and you are ready to publish. No more waiting for hours for an upload or converting. To follow all of my videos, search for the username Myrtlebeachblog.
I made two trial videos today. One was posted earlier today in an article titled Cash Remains King in Myrtle Beach Real Estate- How does it relate to a Condotel? The other video that was made was for Isabelle's Grandmother. We wanted to show my mother-in-law her special outfit that she was able to wear to her first baby shower today. This video is posted below and took a total of 45 seconds to make and is posted below.

This is a great use of video, my friend. Cool to see your wife and baby "live" on camera, too! Why is it tagged for VA Loans?
Oops, the autofill did that!
That was cool. I think I would like to find out more!
Cool tool - I am looking forward to learning more. Thanks for sharing!
This is a great idea. Video is great, but usually it's time consuming, as you said, to download.
Christine...it took like 2 minutes with setting up, logging in & recording...it was wonderful...and even cooler, you can reply to others videos just like you reply to an email!
Thanks David!
BTW, the video camera I used was a very cheap quality one.
Now you need to send Grandma Di a webcam so she can reply back with video. That's what's cool about seesmic, it's Vlogging, not Blogging. Once the thread starts, you can have the whole family from all over the country adding video to your thread. Glad you liked this one Jer, I think your message to Grandma was cool, and Isabelle is adorable!! :-)
Brad- she actually has one and is just need to upload the software again. I like the idea of having family around the country sharing! I guess they just need to set up a seesmic acct first?
I just got a webcam last week but still don't feel comfortable using it. I guess I just need to jump in there. I will be checking out seesmic for sure.
By the way I love the new outfit...bonnets are my fav but I never got a little girl to play dress up with :( On the flip side I have 2 wonderful boys!
Mandi, don't be scared! I would suggest visiting Brad Andersohns page and searching for a post about Mr. Scribble & Video...it will take all your fears away!
You always have great info Jeremy, another feature in my post!
Your daughter is so cute!
Congrats your post was selected as a Blogger's Choice Award Winner!
Very interesting, a video uploading system that is easy to use is so important. Thanks for sharing your experiences.
