8 Places To Watch A Sporting Event In Myrtle Beach

With the Super Bowl right around the corner, I figured this was a perfect time to answer where are the best places in Myrtle Beach to watch the Super Bowl. So, I went to Facebook and asked the question to my friends. After several responses, I have listed below the top places to catch a sporting event in Myrtle Beach.

The first place recommended to me by my peers was The Grumpy Monk in Carolina Forest. This place has a great atmosphere we can go catch the game hang with friends and eat some delicious food. I’ve been told that their hot wings are rather tasty.

The second place to go check out the Super Bowl in Myrtle Beach is Wild Wing Café in barefoot Landing. This is one of my personal favorites to go to.  My wife and I enjoy going to Wild Wing Café on Tuesdays to enjoy their Two Fer Tuesday wing special.  Definitely try the Boss flavor wings. They are done with a dry rub that has just enough heat. They are my personal favorites!

Where to watch football in Myrtle Beach

Next is Carolina Ale House. This is a fairly new restaurant that just opened up near Broadway at the Beach. They have a ton of TVs, pool tables and other fun things to do as well. When I go here, I always get one of their yummy burgers.

Another great option is Dagwood’s Deli. They are known for some of the best sandwiches on the beach. I personally like the French dip. Here you can enjoy the game on one of their extra large TVs.

If you have children and want to watch the game, then Dave and Buster’s at Broadway at the Beach might be the right choice for you. Your children can be entertained by all of the games in the arcade while you can relax and enjoy watching the Super Bowl on one of their many televisions.  Another option is Sam Snead’s over in Carolina Forest. Once again, a great atmosphere with amazing food.

The final place to check out the big game here in Myrtle Beach would be Buffalo Wild Wings. They have multiple locations up and down the beach, delicious food, and a great atmosphere for a sporting event.

Most Romantic Restaurants in Myrtle Beach

romantic places on the beachValentine’s Day is just a few weeks away, so I figured that for this week’s Two Minute Tuesday I would share with you the most romantic restaurants in Myrtle Beach.  While I consider myself to be pretty good in this category, I wanted to get the opinions of others as well, so I asked on Facebook my friend where they thought were the most romantic restaurants in Myrtle Beach.  The video below covers the 5 most popular places, but make sure to read the entire list of recommendations after.

5 Most Romantic Restaurants In Myrtle Beach

5. Thoroughbreds Chophouse and Seafood Grille. I’ve been to this restaurant several times myself, in fact, I’ve gone to weddings receptions there. It’s a great romantic place where they have very quaint settings, amazing food, and awesome steaks. They are just reopening from doing renovations, and take reservations, so I’d call quickly to get your reservation.  Also, try the Angels on Horseback- Jumbo sea scallops, wrapped in Applewood smoked bacon and served with butternut squash puree, sweet potato sticks, and our Kentucky bourbon sauce, a personal favorite!

4. Frank’s Restaurant & Outback down in Pawleys Island. I’ve never been there, but from everyone who responded to the question, they said Frank’s is an amazing place that you should go check out, so definitely go give that one a test, and I will soon as well. The 20 oz bone in ribeye is calling my name.

3. New York Prime Steakhouse. I’ve heard this is a great amazing romantic place to go take your date and have some amazing food. I’m going to definitely try the extra thick bacon when I go, and from what I’ve been told, this is the place to go to find the absolute best steaks on the beach.

2. The Library. The library used to be located in downtown Myrtle Beach right near where the Pavilion was. However they just recently moved about 55 avenues north up in Myrtle Beach into a brand new location. I had a lot of people who responded saying the new location is amazing it’s quaint, and a very romantic place to take your date. Plus, you can never go wrong here with their She Crab soup.

Fondue

1. The Melting Pot. Where else can you go and have a romantic date in a private booth with your special someone where you can share together, sit side by side and create your own magical meal. from the cheese dip fondue to start to the main entree, to the chocolate dessert fondues, it is probably the most romantic place on the beach.  One word of caution, be careful your server doesn’t go overboard on garlic in the cheese fondue.  My wife & I have a funny story about this we can share with you, feel free to ask us about it.

Honorable Mentions

Here’s a few other restaurants that were listed on my post that you may want to give a try as well if the top 5 are all booked up with reservations, or you want something not quite as popular.  I’ve eaten at many of these restaurants and can honestly say, the food will be just as good.

  • Ciao! Italian Restaurant
  • Chestnut Hill
  • Brentwood Restaurant
  • The Parson’s Table
  • Chuck’s Steak House
  • Austin’s Cabana Cafe and Ocean One
  • Villa Romana Italian Restaurant
  • Fire and Smoke Gastropub
  • SeaBlue Restaurant and Wine Bar
  • Soho Cafe & Bar
  • Sole Italian Restaurant

So there you have it, the most romantic restaurants in Myrtle Beach and the surrounding Grand Strand.  Make sure to get your reservations in place now, and leave a comment below letting me know which place you are planning to go to with your date!

Where to Eat Thanksgiving Dinner In Myrtle Beach

In Myrtle Beach this Thanksgiving and want to know where to go eat your Thanksgiving Day Meal?  Read on to find my top 3 places to eat Thanksgiving Day in Myrtle Beach.

Thanksgiving Day Meal

This year my family and I will be spending Thanksgiving with our in-laws in Georgia which means my Mother & Grandmother will be home alone during the holiday.  Since my family isn’t around, they obviously do not want to be cooking a giant meal for just the two of them.  Going through all the work of preparing the turkey and all the fixings that go along with the meal is just entirely too much work.

Instead it is just more economical and more time time effective for the two of them to go out to dinner somewhere for the holiday.  The ultimate question then becomes, Where is a good place to eat dinner in Myrtle Beach on Thanksgiving? Since we are a tourist town as well, many people who head to the beach for the holiday are probably wondering the same thing.

I asked on my Facebook profile for suggestions on where the best places to eat that day and here are my top picks.  Granted, you can always go to several other options here at the beach, but these are my top three places I would go if I wanted a traditional Turkey meal on Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach.

Thanksgiving in Myrtle Beach

Carolina Roadhouse-  Out of all the options in the area, this place might just have the absolute best Thanksgiving Day meal around.  Here’s their menu for the day according to their Facebook Page.

Oven Roasted Turkey Breast
Sugar Cured Ham
Sweet Potato Casserole
Green Beans
Honey-Butter Glazed Carrots
Mashed Potatoes
Southern Herb Stuffing
Homemade Giblet Gravy
Cranberry Relish
Cornbread Muffins
Pecan or Pumpkin Pie

They have a Reese’s peanut butter pie that is to die for good!

Magnolias at 26thThankgiving in Myrtle Beach If you would like more options and prefer a buffet style restaurant, then I would suggest looking at this place.  I’ve been known to frequent this place for awesome lunches with some of the best homestyle southern cooking you can find in Myrtle Beach.  Here’s an image of what they will be serving on Thanksgiving on their buffet.

If you do go here, make sure to save some room for the Chocolate Eclair dessert.  It’s amazing!

Where To Get Good Chinese In Carolina Forest

Dragon PanThere are sometimes in life that you have had a hectic day, you are exhausted and the cure is some good Chinese takeout.  Just like with anything, some places are better than others.  My real estate office is located in Myrtle Beach off of 48th Avenue North & Grissom Parkway.

Whenever I am in the mood for Chinese, I love to go over the waterway and grab some Sweet & Sour Beef at Dragon Pan.  I am not sure what they do differently here, but their food just tastes fresher and better than any other Chinese takeout in Carolina Forest.

Dragon PanTheir lunch specials which run 11-3:30 seven days a week are also phenomenal deals.  They have an extensive lunch menu with over 30 items all for under $6.  Normally I can order food and it is ready for pick-up within 15 minutes.  However if I am rushing to an appointment in Carolina Forest or Conway, I can enjoy my lunch there in their dining room.

The kids love getting any of the Lo Mein noodles and can devour almost an entire adult serving.  One nice thing I found is that if you are not in the mood for rice, you can always exchange it for noodles as a side for a small up charge like I did with my order in the photo to the right.

Dragon Pan is open daily.  Their hours are Mon-Thur 11AM-10PM.  Fri-Sat 11AM-10:30PM Sun 12-10PM.  You can view their menu here and if you want to order takeout, you can call them at 843-903-3688.  Their address is 201 Fresh Dr.  Suite B  Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.  Go check them out & enjoy some of the best Chinese food in Carolina Forest.

Wild Wing Cafe in North Myrtle Beach, SC at Barefoot Landing

Jeremy's WingsMyrtle Beach is known as a place filled with many restaurants to choose from for dining any night of the week.  However, if it is a Tuesday night in which we are planning to go out, we know immediately we are going to visit Wild Wing Cafe at Barefoot Landing in North Myrtle Beach.  The reason we love going to Wild Wing Cafe on Tuesday evenings is that every Tuesday, they have Two Fer Tuesday wings or half price.

Once arriving, I dropped my wife off at the door with the baby and headed on my journey to find a parking space.  Because of the rainy weather, everyone was out shopping, dining and enjoying Barefoot Landing.  I finally found a space, parked and began my walk to the restaurant.  I was taking my time because it was just after 7PM and I figured the restaurant would be packed and expected a wait of 30 minutes to an hour.  But, to my surprise, my phone rang.  My wife called to inform me she had got us a booth and was ordering our drinks awhile.

Our meal began with an order of Big Fat Fries.  Quite the tasty appetizer.  It was a mound of of fresh cut potato wedges smothered in cheese which arrived at our table in less than 5 minutes.

After devouring the fries, our wings then arrived. I had the Honey Mustard Wings & Ranchilada Wings pictured above.  The picture below is of my wife’s wings, The Boss & The Slayer.

K's Wings

What made our evening out so wonderful was the exceptional service we experienced.  The servers were always on top of things.  Our glasses never were more than 1/3 empty.  When we needed something it was delivered quickly and with a smile.  Even bussing our table as we finished was done quickly.  It was great to see the teamwork taking place.  Servers who were not our own would come and fill our glasses and take the dishes if they saw a need.

Price was another great part of our meal.  For the both of us with appetizer the total cost was $25.00 including tip.  Not bad for two meals, an appetizer and great leftovers for the next day.

Since my degree is in Restaurant/Hotel Management, I am extremely critical on restaurants when I go out to eat.  I find myself constantly critiquing restaurants by habit.  Wild Wing Cafe quickly became one of our absolute favorite places to go for wings in Myrtle Beach & North Myrtle Beach.
