The Myrtle Beach Boardwalk

When visiting Myrtle Beach, the one iconic areas of land is the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk.  While the actual boardwalk opened in 2010, many of the businesses that sit along the boardwalk have been there for over 30+ years.  This is a segment along the ocean in Myrtle Beach that is 1.2 miles long and runs from 1st Ave N to 14th Ave N.

The crowning jewel along the boardwalk is the Skywheel which standing 187 feet tall and lights up the sky during the night.  From inside one of the 42 climate controlled gondolas, you can see most of the city behind you as well as for miles out into the ocean and up and down the coast.

Some other fun things to do along the Boardwalk is a trip to the Fun Plaza where you can enjoy some of the old style arcade games that were popular back in the 70’s & 80’s.  If you are looking for a great place to play some old school games, this is definitely the spot in Myrtle Beach.  If live concerts is more your style, you can catch some great bands along the beach on many weekends during the summer.  There are also many great places for shopping and a bite to eat like the iconic Peaches Corner.

There definitely is plenty to do along the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk to keep you and your family entertained for days.  Make sure to check it all out on your next visit!

Where To Get Good Chinese In Carolina Forest

Dragon PanThere are sometimes in life that you have had a hectic day, you are exhausted and the cure is some good Chinese takeout.  Just like with anything, some places are better than others.  My real estate office is located in Myrtle Beach off of 48th Avenue North & Grissom Parkway.

Whenever I am in the mood for Chinese, I love to go over the waterway and grab some Sweet & Sour Beef at Dragon Pan.  I am not sure what they do differently here, but their food just tastes fresher and better than any other Chinese takeout in Carolina Forest.

Dragon PanTheir lunch specials which run 11-3:30 seven days a week are also phenomenal deals.  They have an extensive lunch menu with over 30 items all for under $6.  Normally I can order food and it is ready for pick-up within 15 minutes.  However if I am rushing to an appointment in Carolina Forest or Conway, I can enjoy my lunch there in their dining room.

The kids love getting any of the Lo Mein noodles and can devour almost an entire adult serving.  One nice thing I found is that if you are not in the mood for rice, you can always exchange it for noodles as a side for a small up charge like I did with my order in the photo to the right.

Dragon Pan is open daily.  Their hours are Mon-Thur 11AM-10PM.  Fri-Sat 11AM-10:30PM Sun 12-10PM.  You can view their menu here and if you want to order takeout, you can call them at 843-903-3688.  Their address is 201 Fresh Dr.  Suite B  Myrtle Beach, SC 29579.  Go check them out & enjoy some of the best Chinese food in Carolina Forest.

Things To Do In Myrtle Beach- Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland

A wonderful thing to do in Myrtle Beach this holiday season is to visit Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland.  It is located at BB&T Coastal Field.  It offers thousands of lights finely tuned to ten different songs.

This is Shadrack’s first year in Myrtle Beach, so I loaded the family up & took a drive over to see what it was all about.  It was $25 which covers everyone in your vehicle.  It takes about 30 minutes to drive through the over 1 mile of winding path of lights.  There are also a few places you can pull over and just enjoy the show. Here’s a quick video showing some of the Christmas light show:

My kids ages (3 & 1) were definitely entertained during the entire time.  After you finish there is a small petting zoo along with a few other games & vendors to enjoy.

They are open every night from dusk-10PM and will be in Myrtle Beach till January 8th, 2012 so take a trip over to BB&T Coastal Field and check out this great new holiday thing to do in Myrtle Beach.
